Reethi Gowla is a special Raaga, A rAga that bestows direction when one seeks it. This Karnaatik Raaga has no Hindushtani equivalent. In this Alaapana slight Dhrupad power and resonance may be sensed. In this recording the Tampura is too loud and there are echoes. I may be forgiven. But still you can hear Reethi Gowla that gives me a Reethi[ a method].

I was trying to get to the hidden recesses of the Ragam. I think a Raagam is seamless. I really relish the resonances of the lowrer shruti(s). MD Ramanathan is my maanasa Guru . You have honoured me greatly "purist"! I would not have dared to sing in front of the great maestero! |

i am under total shock...hukum... so this is you... your voice... i just cannot believe my ears... what tremendous control hukum... the koel on the kathal tree actually paused to listen... and continues to pause... she better stay that way for a while... after this... she will sound shrill to my ears...always... is this the lowest shruthi...hukum...? |
